アウトドアブランドの紹介ばっかりじゃつまらないので、たまには違う話題を。
なかなか防水仕様にならないiPhoneを、アウトドアで快適に使用するための防水ケースのはなしです。
アウトドアで使えるアプリもたくさんあって、iPhoneをフィールドに持ち出す機会が多い今日この頃。
GPSでログをとったり、現在位置を把握したり。実際に僕もGPS系のアプリを中心に外遊びで活用しています。
しかし！iPhoneの最大の弱点は「防水性」。はっきりいってスマホの中で最弱ですよね。
僕は、過去に2度水難事故の経験あり…水に濡れるとまず回復しません。
挙動がおかしくなって、突然画面は真っ暗、タッチパネルは沈黙です。
ということで、アウトドアでの使用に防水ケースは必須。
ソフトからハードまでいくつか試したので少しご紹介しますね。まずはソフトケースから。

アウトドアショップで売ってるジッパー型の防水ケース。いわゆる”かっこいい”ジップロック。
ジップ部分はしっかりした作りです。素材はジップロックよりやや厚めではりのある感じ。
U.S.NAVY使用のお墨付きだけあってスペックは充分です。60m防水、-40度でも品質保証らしいです。
アウトドアでの使用には安心感あり。ハードに使うとロゴはあっという間に消えちゃうけど。
たしか、日本のショップに並びだした頃は、ＸＳ～ＬＬみたいなサイズ展開だったような気がするけど、いまはさらにスマートフォン用やタブレット用でも展開してますね。
あ！検索してみたらヨドバシでも売ってるし。
数年前は下北沢のボーズマンまでわざわざ買いに行ったのに（笑）
ということで、LOKSAKの防水ケースをしばらく使ってました。
普段はノーマルカバーのみで、アウトドアに持ち出すときだけケースに入れてポケットに。
操作性はまったく問題ありません。通話も大丈夫。
もちろんスマホだけじゃなくて、水に濡らしたくない物はなんでも入れられます。
食材や調味料入れるのにもぴったりだと思います。
あと、長期キャンプの時なんかは、ティッシュやトイレットペーパー入れにも使ってます。トイレットペーパーの芯は抜いてつぶして入れましょう。
必要充分だし、質実剛健で潔い感じが好きだったんだけど、少し物足りなくてハードケースを物色するようになって…。
