世界に誇れるアライテント。ドマドームほしい！
アライテントの創業者は新井睦氏。
彼は、成人すると、いくつかの職を終えて28歳の時に、両親の仕事の関係で東京中野の江古田テントに就職。この江古田テントとの出会いこそがが、その後の登山用道具の世界での仕事との出会いであった。
そこでキスリング、サブザック、テントなどをはじめ、様々なアウトドア用品の製造方法を学び、また自分自身もミシンを操作して実際に製造も行っていた。しかし、1965年に江古田テントは廃業してしまう。そのことをきっかけにアライテントを創業した。自社製品の製造販売のほかに、ICI石井スポーツ、IBS石井スポーツのオリジナル商品のOEM生産も行っていた。
アライテントの代表的なテントは、軽量型ウィンターテント「ダイヤモンドテント」であった。1969年には、現在のツエルトの原型となる底つきのツエルトを発表する。このツエルトは後のエアライズへとつながっていった。。
アライテントでは、フロアサイズの基準をこのツエルトサイズを元にしている。人数の増減によって大きさを算出してフロアサイズを決めているのだ。具体的には間口90cm×奥行200cmを基本比率として、その型を同じにすることにより、オプションパーツやリペアパーツを共有できるようにしている。
1982年、自社ブランドである「ライペン」が誕生。1984年には、自立式ドーム型ツエルトとして「ライズⅠ」を、翌1985年には最初のゴアテックス製のドーム型テント「ゴアライズⅠ」を発表。さらに前室追加して、1987年に「エアライズ」を発表した。
そして今では、山岳地帯のキャンプ地では見ない日がないほどの人気のテントとなっている！
