一家に一脚！？クレイジークリークのオリジナルチェアはロースタイルキャンプの主役のひとつ。
「一度、外遊びで使ってしまったら最後。もう他のイスには戻れない」
こう言い切ってしまっても大げさではないくらい中毒性のあるイスがクレイジークリーク。
創業者のロブ・ハートがこの椅子を思いついたきっかけは、ある日の悪天候でのキャンプであった。倒木に座るか、重いキャンピングチェアを持っていくか…。そんな時に、彼の祖父がキャンプの際にいつも使っていたカヌー用のイス思い出し、それをモチーフに試作品を作り始めたこと。
こうして出来上がったイスが「オリジナルチェア」だ。その後もロブは素材やデザインを変え、年々オリジナルチェアを進化させていった。
最近では、創業20周年となった2007年に軽量コンパクトな「ヘクサライト・オリジナルチェア」を発表。あの座り心地はもちろんそのまま、軽量化と携帯性を格段にアップさせた。荷物の制限される長期登山での使用も可能になった。こうしてさらなる中毒患者を増やし続けている。
